Food and Beverage Information

Page history last edited by Scott Stauffer 1 yr ago

The food and beverage plan costs $15 per day.  The first meal provided will be breakfast on Sunday(8/24) and the last meal will be breakfast on Monday(9/1).

Important: If you are arriving on Saturday, make sure you bring some food and water to keep you happy until the truck/kitchen is setup on Sunday morning.

Here is some information about what's included.

Beverages

Beverages included:

  • Gatorade (served from 5 gallon dispensers)
  • Water for drinking and showering
  • Milk for drinking and cereal
  • A variety of juices
  • Tea

Each Fairy will receive a Fairyland water bottle with their name on it to use throughout the week. This really helps to reduce the amount of trash created by empty cups and bottles.

Beverages NOT included:

  • Energy Drink (i.e. Red Bull)
  • Nutrition Shakes (i.e. Ensure)
  • Soda
  • Alcohol (See Bar for more info)
  • Coffee (available at Center Camp)

Feel free to bring any of these items in your own cooler if you'd like.

Food

Once the truck is unpacked, it will be converted to the camp kitchen for the week.  Fairies are free to help themselves to food at anytime.  I promise you will not go hungry!  Here's an idea of what to expect.

  • Breakfasts: A variety of breakfast food will be available for you to choose from no matter what time you wake up.  Items include cereal boxes with milk, bagels with butter/cream cheese/peanut butter, granola bars and yogurt tubes.

  • Lunches: Lunch is also self-serve at any time of the day.  Items available include a variety of lunchmeats and cheeses on bagels or pita bread.  There will also be tuna fish pouches, ramen noodle bowls, potato and/or macaroni salad, peanut butter, jelly, chips and crackers.

  • Dinners: Each night, a group dinner will be served around 6pm. If you're having too much fun on the playa and miss dinner, don't worry. There are usually leftovers you can heat up, or you can use the lunch food to make something. Some of the dinners planned include Meatloaf, Pasta & Meatballs, Grandma's Chicken Divan, Randy's Green Chili Pork, Polish Sausages, and tacos with all the fixins.

All dinners are prepared ahead of time at The Scott's house and frozen in boil bags.  You will be asked to sign up for kitchen duty one or two nights during the week.  All you need to do is boil the water to heat up the boil bags for that night's dinner and get out any of the side dishes.  You'll also be responsible for the small amount of cleanup after dinner.

  • Snacks: A variety of snack items are always available.  This includes cookies, crackers, cheese sticks, fresh fruit (until it goes bad<g>), red vines, chips, cheez-its, and any other junk food that catches my eye while I'm shopping.
